Rainbows X Treehouse

Architecture combines with music: Artist Sarah Kate Wilson and the MUSARC choir perform new work ‘Rainbows’ in and around ‘Treehouse’ by Studio Kyson.

Rainbows by Sarah Kate Wilson will be performed with Beata viscera iridis, an arrangement of Pérotin’s Beata viscera for the London based choir Musarc by Piper Haywood and Toby O’Connor. The choir will endeavour to create rainbows using iPad sized hand-held coloured mirrors. The spectacle will manifest and dissipate through the voices and hands of the choir.

As audiences enter this sonic landscape within the London Festival of Architecture they will be caught inside the rainbow, captured through and in selfies, viewers will face themselves as mirrors are held up to them, and bodies will be received as they alight on these reflective surfaces.

The piece premiered at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and was performed at the opening of the Royal Academy in London this Spring.

Performances at 16.30 and 17.30
