The Walking Reading Group – Changing East London

Join us to walk and talk the changing space of East London, led by artist collective The Walking Reading Group.

The Walking Reading Group will host a walk exploring concepts of dystopia and utopia, consumerism and gentrification in the context of Stratford and Hackney Wick. Participants will be invited to read selected texts that will serve as a springboard for conversations during our two hour walk.

Texts will be announced soon.

Meeting point will be outside UCL at Here East.

The Walking Reading Group, running since 2013, is a project that facilitates knowledge exchange in an intimate and dynamic way through discussing texts whilst walking together. In this reading group the table is broken up by the street and the dominant voice is replaced with the sound of conversation partners talking simultaneously. Anyone can participate and the walks are free to attend. TWRG is run by Lydia Ashman, Ania Bas, Simone Mair.

This event includes a walking tour, if you have any specific access requirements please email architecture.comms@ucl.ac.uk using the subject line ACCESS.
