All Change in Covent Garden

19 June 2022

10:30 -12:30

One of two guided walks by Anthony Davis showing how people’s behaviour acts on the built environment, often in ways we do not notice.

Join us on a tour around obscure corners of Covent Garden seeing how the area has changed from an area of extreme poverty to a prosperous industrial area and now to a retail centre. You will hear about the area in the words of past residents such as Charles Dickens and discover many surprises in the different ways that alleys and courtyards have been re-purposed for shopping and leisure in the 21st century.

Anthony Davis is an architectural historian and postgraduate student at UCL The Bartlett who is also a qualified Westminster and Camden official guide.
