Belonging Needs Housing
A walk from Churchill Gardens to the Millbank Estate in Pimlico exploring belonging, home and housing
Sunday 21st June
14:00 - 16:00
A home is central to belonging. Without a stable, comfortable home we become transient, unable to centre or develop self. Too many people now live in accommodation without a sense of belonging, pay too much money, lacking fairness, security or rights.
London has a fine tradition of building good quality, low cost public housing. This was conscious and deliberate; to improve people's lives, develop the civic, ensure political accountability.
What happened? We'll explore this and other questions on a walk that will travel through time and space from Churchill Gardens to the Millbank Estate in Pimlico.
