Conversations on colour

In a culture where there is often a nervousness to use colour to create a strong identity for a development, HawkinsBrown have been researching into how different practitioners have successfully used colour and why. These practitioners have been chosen from both the world of fine art and architecture for their confidence and originality in the use of colour and how it drives their design.

HawkinsBrown Partner and Head of Interior Design, Morag Morrison and Architect, Helena Howard have been carrying out the research and are keen to promote different approaches and encourage a stronger engagement with the use of colour in the built environment.

A round table discussion with some of the contributors to this research; David Batchelor, artist and author of 'Chromophobia', Professor Fiona McLachlan, author of 'Colour Strategies in Architecture', Piers Gough of CZWG alongside Catrina Stewart and Hugh McEwen of Office S&M, will explore application of colour through a lively discussion, followed by drinks and nibbles at the beautiful Chapel of Thomas Guy.
