The tour will begin with an overview of historical and geographical discussion of the area and highlights the strong sense of community and belonging in the area.

The tour opens with a discussion of Whitfield Gardens and its recent renovation by LDA which is part of Camden Council's West End Projects, creating a destination for locals as well as visitors to the area. The route then follows Whitfield Street down past the old site of Pollock's Toy Museum towards Crabtree Fields and Colville Place, a delightful example of the secret pockets of calm that can be found in the area. The next leg of the route takes in Charlotte Street and the very significant Fitzroy Tavern which gives the area its name, before moving into Westminster and stopping at the Newman Arms, another important local pub.

Moving north along Charlotte Place and Tottenham Street, the route passes the former site of the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre and moves into the residential and office development of Fitzroy Place with discussion of the old Middlesex Hospital and a chance to explore the glorious Fitzrovia Chapel (if opening hours permit). Heading north, the route takes in other key landmarks like the old Cleveland Street Workhouse and the postwar University of Westminster. The final section of the tour leads into Fitzroy Square and finishes with a discussion of the areas most identifiable landmark, the BT Tower.
