Health and Hygiene: St Pancras Housing

A guided walk, with unique access and local resident insight, around the St Pancras Housing Association Estates in Somers Town by Open City Guide Eleanor Marshall.
The slum clearance was based on the notion that slums were unclean and riddled with bugs. These were replaced by 'Garden estates' with communal spaces, and 'Art in everyday life' Gilbert Bayes' finials.
This innovative 1930s housing project that had at its core the belief that 'Housing is not enough'.
