Supporting Communities in Changing Areas: The Neighbourhood Priorities Fund

09 June 2022

13:00 -14:00

This panel discussion will explore how community-led initiatives can support areas experiencing significant change and development. Focusing on the neighbourhoods around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, panelists will explore how communities can act to maximise the opportunities that development presents.

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) allocates 15% of its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) receipts to the Neighbourhood Priorities Fund (NPF). The NPF is an opportunity for local community organisations to bid for funding for projects that address the demands, and make the most of opportunities, that result from the development of an area.

The event will take the form of a panel discussion between LLDC officers responsible for running NPF bidding rounds and those running NPF-funded projects. The discussion will be held at Timber Lodge Café, which is operated by Change Please, a social enterprise which invests 100% of its profits in supporting people experiencing homelessness, and which has benefitted from NPF funding.

Speakers have been confirmed from:
- Social Ark, an organisation that works with young East Londoners to develop social enterprises;
- D-Lab, an innovation hub that runs an architecture accelerator programme; and
- Change Please, a social enterprise, supporting people experiencing homelessness.

This is a hybrid event; tickets are available for both the in person event at Timber Lodge X Change Please and for the online live-stream. Attendees for the live-stream will receive a Microsoft Teams link ahead of the discussion.
