Join the team behind UCL East on a guided tour of one of London’s most ambitious developments, which will see One Pool Street, designed by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, opening in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this autumn and Marshgate, designed by Stanton Williams, opening in 2023.
This first phase of UCL East embodies a new type of university campus that breaks down disciplinary siloes and promotes cross-disciplinary learning, thinking and research: the type of interconnectedness needed to tackle the biggest issues facing the world today. To accommodate this visionary programme, the designs have focused on highly flexible, collaborative social spaces, which encourage interaction between teaching and research, staff and students, academics and members of the public, while allowing new disciplines and modes of working to emerge.
In this tour you will get a preview of these striking construction sites and will hear from UCL, the architects and Mace’s construction team about the ambitions for the new campus and the challenges of bringing to life such innovative buildings.
