Call for Entries

NEWS |

We are delighted to announce our ‘Call for Entries’ for the 2020 edition of the London Festival of Architecture.  Whether you’ve previously run events for the festival or are thinking about staging your first event – we would love to hear from you.

The first stage to submitting an event is to create an account on the LFA website.  If you or your organisation have run events with us before then you can use your previous account details and login here. Otherwise, if you’re new, you can create a new account here.

From within your account you’ll find a host of information to help you plan and submit your festival events.

Submit your outline event proposal before:

  • 15 December 2019 for your event to be considered by our first Curation Panel. This is essential if you need any additional help with your event.
  • 10 March 2020 for our final deadline. If you don’t need any support with your event, this is our final deadline. But please be aware this final deadline doesn’t give you any time to revise your proposal if our Curation Panel have questions or comments.
  • Late entries can be submitted after this deadline on payment of a £50 admin fee (up until 9th April)

Following feedback from the Curation Panel:

  • All event information needs to be finalised online by 9th April.

Our Curation Panel will review all event submissions, deciding which events to approve for the festival. They will also be looking at which events to select as part of our ‘Themed Programme’.

Our theme for the 2020 Festival is ‘Power’.  Events which do not directly address the theme of power will form part of our wider ‘General Programme’.  The Curation Panel have the final say as to which events form part of the festival.

The diagram below explains the process for submitting your event proposals.

The London Festival of Architecture exists to democratise the discussion around architecture and our city. Holding your own event is a great way to be part of the conversation about architecture and our city.

As the world’s largest annual architecture festival, the LFA offers you a platform to get your voice heard, test new ideas, celebrate your work, start a debate, meet new clients, get noticed, make a point, publish research, build something new, bring your team together, meet new people or change our city for the better.

Following a record number of event submissions for the 2019 Festival, the ‘call for entries’ process now offers all potential event organisers more time to develop their proposals with the help of the Festival’s curation panel of leading architects, curators, artists and journalists. It’s free to submit and stage events – as long as they’re submitted before our deadline.

We are particularly looking for events that respond to this year’s theme of ‘power’ in interesting or novel ways.

If you want to discuss any ideas, why not pop into one of our informal Surgery Days. The LFA team will be available all day for one-two-one sessions at  The Building Centre, 26 Store Street to discuss your ideas and give helpful tips and pointers before you start your submission.
